Does the Human Rights Campaign have a serious commitment to
passing ENDA legislation if so it’s not evident anywhere–not in the White
House, or in the Congress and not even evident among other leading
organizations within our own community.

In this endeavor, all roads lead to the Human Rights
Campaign, which controls the federal legislative agenda on LGBT issues, which
appears to be satisfied with the status quo:
the White House says they are building support for the measure with no
evidence to substantiate these repeated mantra; no Congressional hearings have
been held in a number of years; no public education efforts by HRC have been
launched in using compelling stories of those who have suffered job
discrimination; and no serious lobbying efforts by HRC have been launched to
schedule a vote in the Senate, which has a decent chance to win a whipped vote
and create a public record of accountability.

In reviewing the workplace issue landing page of the Human
Rights Campaign website, information about the ENDA measure is buried and
requires two additional clicks to access it.
Clearly, ENDA does not have a visible priority at HRC. Maybe just maybe the
bigoted HRC will take on this task if they get more money and drop transgender inclusiveness
from the ENDA bill.

A few of my friends heard about it and decided to stop by. I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised. Definitely didn't think a club in Matthews would deliver but it was better than most clubs in CLT for our community. Great drink prices, good entertainers and music. A+

Guys, Some of these comments seem like the church might be posting some stuff on here. I can tell you that I was there and we did not get saved as it would appear. While I don't know if the comments on here are planted or actual, I can tell you that we went out there ready to protest.
We walked across the street and the 10 of us were met by a large group that came out to the side walk. They were nice and welcoming. However they still have their beliefs, as do we. Our intention is to locate Flip Benham and stand against him when we are given that chance. Fire church is a completely different group. They have strong opinions on the gay community but at least they are not standing on a cross shaped box yelling with a bull horn. I will stay friendly with this group as long as we both can stay civilized, but will stand up for my marriage at all costs. If you have any questions, please email me, Jeffenochs@carolina.rr.com.... On another note, My partner and I had dinner with Dr Michael Brown and Pastor Scott Volk to talk about our differences last week. While we didn't change any opinions, we were able to get our stance on the issues out on the table. I look forward to setting up a time when the community can meet these two gentlemen and express our view points in a civil environment.

Hey Matthew,

I don't think FIRE imposes its beliefs on anyone. They aren't advocating Christian Sharia at all. In fact, just the opposite. They're worried about the INtolerance from the LGBT community. They actively preach "hate the sin, but not the sinner."

Ouch, Tom!!! Actually, the protestors ended up leaving early today because they said we were nice, loving, and didn't deserve a protest. So, I'm thankful that our love did win out. And, it amazes me that the ONLY people that have ever called me 'hateful' were those from the GLBT community who have NEVER MET ME!So, here is an open invitation to those that wrote a response to my initial not that was posted here: Come and join me and my family for dinner at my home. FIRE Church...how perfect, a church that symbolizes HELL.
What these fire church people probably don't understand is that spending an eternity ANYWHERE with them is what I would consider a true HELL. They should concern themselves with their own pathetic lives and leave other alone to theirs...

Do you protest other religions and their gatherings? If not then you are cherry picking the bible. Commandment number one "thou shall have no other Gods before me" Why are you not going after the Buddhists, and the Hindus? You say love is your guiding principle I ask you is it love to impose your religious beliefs upon others? The Muslims in many parts of the world believe they are showing love by imposing sharia law upon their citizens. We can all live together in peace if you begin to view and treat gay people and our gatherings as you view other religions and their gatherings. If you can not do this then there will not be peace because we will not be treated as second class citizens and have your christian sharia imposed upon us.
